Program Summary

WI LWC Program approved to use LWC funds to support Wisconsin LWC athletes attending National or International Weightlifting Meets. The program’s goal is to encourage Wisconsin athletes to compete at the highest level, and support their travel costs. Full description here.

Program Details

Program year will begin with 2019 Senior Nationals, and run through any qualifying event prior to 2020 Senior Nationals.

Program open to any WI LWC Lifter who has also participated in a WI LWC local meet in the previous 24 months to the requested competition.

For 2019 program year, the meets and stipend amounts are:

Gold Meets - $400 Stipend

* IWF Worlds - Senior/Junior/Youth
* Pan-Am Championships/Games - Senior/Junior/Youth
* Any International Meet/Cup listed as Gold/Silver/Bronze towards Olympic Qualification, any age category

Silver Meets - $200 Stipend

* USAW Nationals -Senior/Junior/Youth/University/U25 
* USAW American Open Finals

Bronze Meets - $100 Stipend

* USAW American Open Series meets - Senior/Junior/Youth

*If USAW/IWF add additional major meets, follow the request process and the LWC Board will vote which category they should fall under.

Request Process

In order to receive the stipend:

At least 2 weeks prior to the event, email WisconsinLWC@gmail.com and include lifter’s name and the event they are attending.

Lifter must be registered for the meet competing as Senior/Junior/Youth, master’s age lifters competing in a Senior event are eligible.
LWC Board will respond with approval notification.
After the competition, LWC Board will verify that the lifter attended the competition.
LWC Board will then request funds from WI LWC account for disbursement, and log for the annual program report.
